ELIZA is a early attempt at natural language processing, developed by Joseph Weizenbaum at MIT between 1964-1966a at MIT.


This entry needs to be substantially expanded to remain in the ELD, particularly because ELIZA is a foundational application.

- identify menu items on the right
- expand entry - historical context, therapeutic role, bot, q and a format, etc.
- provide images where possible of emulators/reproductions
- definitely consider literary qualities, what makes ELIZA an important early work of "elit" and not just a program
