Individual Work
>>Oh<<

The work “>>Oh<<” by Jennifer Hill-Kaucher, Dan Waber, and Reiner Strasser is an interactive poem on a flash platform. The piece starts with the title centered in the screen, which fades away after a couple of seconds. The user then hears the sound of water dripping and sees the appearance of dots on the screen in a random pattern. If the user mouses over the drops, an audio “oh” will sound. The drops will then expand out, in a rippling effect, revealing writing below, which looks like a portion of a poem. The visible lines read: “Oh rain oh writes Oh oh oh in oh the oh puddles.” But these verses do not stay around for long before fading back into the white background. Then the sounds and drops of water start up again. After a few attempts at trying to reveal the poem, a hard rain washes the entire poem into view before quickly fading back into the background and the process starts again.
