Initially launched in 2001, the Whitney Artport serves as an access portal to digital art commissioned by or exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Until early 2006, the Whitney also invited artists to create a unique “gate page,” which serves as a presentation of and series of links to the major projects of the artist in question; all such pages are archived on the site.
